Jake has been teaching our sons music for the past 5 years (from ages 1 and 3 to 6 and 8), including, zoom lessons through the pandemic. I cannot recommend him highly enough as a music teacher. Not only is he a masterful musician, but Jake is an incredible teacher. He is remarkable in his ability to engage and motivate young musicians. He is facile with teaching kids of all ages and skill levels. He is fun, funny, and laid back. He approaches each student differently, meeting their unique learning needs. I have been especially impressed with his ability to scale his lessons to my son’s musical interests, learning new pieces of music to teach him, and sending videos after lessons to ensure he can master the material between lessons. In addition to addressing the technical aspects of playing an instrument, he also guides his students (and their parents) through the physical, emotional, and psychological aspects of becoming a musician. We are so lucky to have Jake as the teacher for our sons.
